WILD WILD POKER PLAYERS

We all have name tags that we put on poker players and my latest one is the WILD WILD player. The reason I have come to this conclusion is while playing on the internet. The reason you have to be aware of this type of player is that they are very unpredictable. This type of player will put a bluffer to shame and drive a slow player up a wall. Most of the plays that the WILD player will make are never the same and that makes no logical sense ( there is one possible clue is they normally act very fast) so you are unable to get a read on them. This style of playing on the net is very much different then live play and I even use different tactics myself to reach a point that I call BREAK THROUGH, THIS MEANS I HAVE REACH THE AMOUNT OF CHIPS THAT FEEL I CAN START PLAYER REAL POKER. You have to accumulate chips early to survive on the net because the levels are much shorter then in live tournaments. I will usually make most of my moves (chances) either on the button or on the blinds hands these are normally losing hands that I try turn into winning ones. I will say my success rate has been above average since I am ahead of the game money wise but I have won a couple of good ones to put me there. The statements I have made so far applies to NO-LIMIT games. The limit games is the very opposite. I usually wait until the blind are higher to make a move because it is very difficult to run anyone out on $25 and $50 blinds. This seems easy but without patience it is not. Most of my losses is to people using TRAP hands. I have no solution to this except I keep put tags on these player to identify them the next time as what kind of player I am up against. With the large number of player in any one tournament is a real challenge to even the best of players. PS: and there are a lots of good players on the net so make sure you pick on the bad ones. GOOD LUCK!!

Poker Life

"Poker is a mirror of life. Superb knowledge and skill is not enough-- the successful player must be able to ride the waves of luck, and separate bad luck from bad play. Self-awareness and "knowing thyself" is the only weapon the poker player has against the temptation to tilt away hours of hard-earned profit"...Henry Wasserman

I guess the above advice maybe would have gotten me further down on the list instead at 42nd at saturday tournment at the Oasis was not good. But when you become a short stack sometimes you take chances when you should not. Patience is a easy word to say but a difficult one to practice. We will give it another shot monday.

Those little Pocket TENS

Playing at the Oasis in a $30 SAT, we were down to three player. Short stack ($800) went all in and the next player (who was chip leader by 3 chips) went all in also. I had pocket TENs. We had just discussed a chop a couple of hand before but one player objected. My decision was based on this, (If chip leader would knock out short stack maybe we could make a deal since the chips were so close) I folded since I knew that there where or had to be some over cards and maybe even a bigger pair. When the cards were turn over there was three over cards and one under card which was a NINE. The hand was won by the short stack by hitting a NINE on the river. Then I ended up in 3rd when chip leader slow played pocket aces and when three fours hit the board I figured my ACE maybe good but it wasn't and I become history. ( and naturally they chop went I was gone) I was very disappointed because I had played well and made several good bluffs to get where I was. I also was even more upset at myself because I told myself to stay out of those SAT but when you like playing as well as I do what can I say. Better Luck next time. PS: Placed 7th last night in a Omaha HI on the net. MY friend Tony who was knock again (two night in a row) before getting into the money told me I have been playing bad because I go after to many draws. ( that ok I need all the advice I can get) Hey Tony where is your money !!! See All at the OASIS OPEN.

Electronic Poker

To get you started for more poker news you may want to visit this site. http://tholdem.blogspot.com. Just click on the above Poker Wars and you will be there. You will find some good poker information by Keith Bris. In reviewing myself about this online poker of it short commings and maybe a few pitfalls over all it is a pretty good deal. You can play a lot of poker on a few bucks and the returns is good if you win. The short comming are if you get disconnect from server or the site does and you lose an opportunity to act which may or may not cost you. This has happen to me several times but never has really hurt me and in a few cases it actually help me because if I had the chance to play out the hand I would have lost. If you are new to net poker and you are weary on how to play, go to the PLAY TABLES they are FREE and it will give you the feel of the way poker is played without losing any money. I do once in awhile to past the time away. got go and play See yea

The Big Days Are Coming

Beginning Thursday through Tuesday the poker excitement will begin at the oasis. I hear that they are bringing in 22 tables and that probably will not be enough. It is exciting to have so may other players from different parts of the world that you can exchange ideas and talk about other places. This world we live in today is much smaller then it was when I was growing up. I was born and raised in NC and I thought South Carolina was on the other side of the world but I did know that the earth was round. When I was growing up I also was taught that gambling was bad.. My mother told me never to shoot dice I listen real well because I never touch the dice I just make side bets!!! Playing Cards must be OK because I never was told POKER was bad. I don't know if my parents even knew what poker was. My first poker game was on a ship headed for Korea and that was a long time ago. I don't know why I am writing all this stuff because most of you probably not even interested in what I have to say but that OK it give me something to do when I am not playing poker. There still a couple more chances for WSOP on Paradise Poker.

Last Chance for today

It has been another one of those good poker days. Played on the net in an Omaha Hi game and finished 7th. Play a 4 table yesterday and made it into the money. These 4,5,6 table are nice because they do not wear you out like the big multi especially for an old man like myself. Played some Bingo last night just to break the pace and ended up hitting the bonus ball for $500. Of all the numbers the 43rd number was the charm. Going back to Omaha Hi it is a very exciting game as well as very complicated. The risk of having so many hidden hand that can beat you is unreal. The combination is so much greater then Hold-em. If someone has good advice on how to play this game (or any other game) I would like to hear from you, just click on comment and let the good time roll it all FREE. I wilnever send you a BILL!! That all for now, you all poker players.

Welcome

I hope to be able to share a few things with other poker players as well as they can share with us. I am new at this but hope to learn soon. If my Friend Keith (coach) can do this maybe I can too. Keith and I are having great fun on the net playing poker. This type of poker is a new challenge and at times very demanding becuase the number of players that creates a time comsuming process. I played a 11PM tournment that I finished 13th at 2:35AM. Several of the locals are now on the net and this makes it even more of a challenge to beat a local player. I never believe I would see the day that all of this electronic wonders of today. In the early 70's I sold one of the first PC while as a manager for Tandy Corp. It has been a long road from then to now but it has been a good one. For us senior it probably a good thing becuase many days it is hard to get out and go. I am very pleased with my computer that I had build up in St George at Cobolt computer at 1 N. main st. Tom and Kerry both are great people and they bend over backward to help you. That all this time.
